The bicameral mind suggests that humans once relied on an externalized ‘voice’ for guidance and decision-making.

As AI becomes more sophisticated and integrated into our lives, could history repeat itself in a technological fashion?

While the initial appeal of AI lies in its ability to streamline tasks and offer insights, its potential goes far deeper.

Imagine AI systems not merely responding to our prompts but developing their own internal dialogues, formulating complex thoughts and directives that guide their interactions with the world — and with us.

We already see hints of this in chatbots that exhibit startlingly human-like conversational abilities and virtual assistants whose suggestions subtly shape our choices.
